We’re Theo and James: best friends, cocktail fanatics, and founders of Maxfield & Dyer. Since 2018, we’ve been working together to create unforgettable events, mixing everything we’ve learned from our time spent in the trade; from Michelin-starred restaurants and luxury hotels to high-end cocktail bars and country pubs. In 2024, we launched Maxfield & Dyer with the goal of delivering world-class cocktails and exceptional hospitality to events and celebrations.

Nestled in the picturesque county of Dorset, we turned our shared passion for mixology and drinks into a thriving cocktail events company. With over 20 years of experience between us, we bring an expansive knowledge of all things drinks, a keen eye for detail, and a genuine commitment to quality. We believe every drink should tell a story and every ingredient should matter.
Theo maxfield
Theo is passionate about all things cocktails and drinks, a journey that began over 10 years ago while running a small country pub, where he first discovered mixology and a deep appreciation for hospitality.
From there, he has carried this passion throughout his career, working as the Head of Bar at The Newt in Somerset and as Restaurant Manager at Osip, a Michelin-starred restaurant. During this time, he honed his skills in bartending while also achieving his WSET Level 3 in wine.
Theo takes great pride in his work and goes to great lengths to ensure that every drink served is executed to perfection.
James dyer
James’s passion lies in creating the perfect event. He is the logistical brain behind the operation and manages our team of professional, experienced staff.
James has worked as a Bar Manager in an exclusive members’ club and worked alongside Theo at Osip. Prior to his career in hospitality, he studied HR Management in Bristol and worked in finance in London. He brings a personable approach and excellent organisational skills to every event.
Highly practical in his approach, and drawing on his skills as a bespoke furniture and cabinet maker, James has built our in-house range of mobile bars and is always finding solutions to the unique challenges that arise in events.

Our cocktails are mixed with seasonality in mind, sourcing fresh ingredients at their best. Every menu is unique and every drink is hand-crafted with care, from house-made infusions and cordials, to hand-squeezed citrus.
Sustainability matters to us. We actively minimise waste, operate with reusable and recyclable materials, prioritise responsible sourcing, and are always on the hunt for quality producers close to home.
Our approach ensures that our drinks not only taste great, but feel great too.
